The event took place in 16 cities across the country where 1020 participants were counselled. It was supported by The Times of India, The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE) and National Entreprenuership Network (NEN).
In Ahmedabad the event was held at the incubator of entrepreneurship - Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) at IIM-A. Prana Sarvaiya, a fashion designer and one of the participants said, "I had come here to explore the possibility of starting something on my own. This interaction made me realise that I need to do a lot of planning before I can make my mark in the fashion industry."
Vishnu Varshney, managing director of Gujarat Venture Finance Limited and one of the eight mentors, said, "Entreprenuership does not always mean going out on your own but could even be done in an on-going job. It simply means to create something new". Varshney addressed the participants on "Entrepreneurial Ecosystem".
The other mentors included Sanjiv Sood from Norquest Brands private limited, Seshadri Rajaram, CEO Erhardt + Leimer private limited, Paresh Vasani, managing director of Circuit Systems Limited, IIM-A faculty Professor Rakesh Vasant, Govind Gupta, CEO Indusa Infotech Services private limited and the Lead India finalist from Ahmedabad, Ruzan Khambata. Jayesh Kothari, 22, an MBA student at Nirma University and a businessman, said, "I want to move from the wholesale market to retail market in my existing paper business. I met Govid Gupta and he gave me an insight into the market scenario and showed possibilities of diversification. I immediately called my father and held a second round of discussions".
